Havering sits on the eastern edge of London, home to diverse communities with a mix of suburban and more deprived areas. Despite a relatively strong borough-level profile, significant pockets of deprivation exist — particularly for young people seeking affordable, structured sport and recreation.
Equal Edge delivers cricket coaching, youth development workshops, community match days, and the schools cricket programme across Havering, with ambitions to expand further in 2026/27.
One of London's most ethnically diverse and economically deprived boroughs. Large South Asian, Black African, and Black Caribbean communities call this home — communities for whom access to affordable, culturally relevant sport is severely limited. Physical inactivity rates are among the highest in London.
This is a primary delivery focus for Equal Edge. We run the full programme portfolio here: cricket coaching, women-only sessions, BAME outreach, schools programme, indoor fitness, and youth workshops.
Home to a richly diverse population including large South Asian and Jewish communities. Cricket holds deep cultural resonance here — yet organised club cricket is often inaccessible due to cost and cultural distance from traditional club structures.
We deliver cricket coaching, community match days, and youth workshops across Redbridge, with plans to add the schools programme in 2027.
Our founding geography is East London — but our ambition is Essex-wide. We are actively developing delivery partnerships across the county, working with local authorities, schools, and cricket clubs to bring inclusive sport to communities from Thurrock to Colchester.
